I'm a visual designer, artist, and writer helping people see a sustainable, beautiful future.

Bio

I am co-founder and Creative Director of Constructive, an independent nonprofit reshaping how we collaborate to advance clean energy and climate solutions. We do this by creating high trust convenings, powered by world-class experience design, facilitation, and analysis, that link together to drive real-world outcomes. I lead visual design, storytelling, branding, marketing, and communications across our internal operations and partner programs.

Previously I was a Senior Consultant at the US Department of Energy's Loan Programs Office, where I supported the cross-office Pathways to Liftoff initiative and co-created the Deploy summits, developing the brand and managing creative production of all our digital, print, and environmental graphics.

As a freelance visual designer I’ve worked with clients in clean energy, international and urban development, biotech, venture capital, climate, social services, and a writer who keeps asking me to do weird things like “draw an ant that looks like it’s about to F you up!”

Before freelancing I led development and communications at an amazing nonprofit urban design firm called Kounkuey Design Initiative. While I worked there I co-authored the World Bank Handbook for Gender Inclusive Planning and Design as well as a research paper on community-led infrastructure in Kibera, Kenya.

I'm a lifelong multimedia artist, constantly fascinated by the textures and forms found in the natural world - a product of my upbringing in the gorgeous Dartmoor National Park in southwest England. Watercolor was my first love but nowadays I’m obsessed with printmaking!

We live in an ever more fragmented, alienated world, and I know that’s not the right direction to go in. My impulse is to weave together, to make things coherent, to create gravity. Painters often talk of the “push and pull” — it’s the same with everything I do. I like nothing better than taking an amorphous problem or value proposition and pushing/pulling until it coalesces into a form, a story, that connects with us.
